I Can't Remember the Lyrics....

I don't remember the title of the song, or the exact lyric, but this morning on my way home from work, a song came across the radio and one line said something to the effect that God had forsaken His Son on the cross.

And of course, I knew that.

But at that moment, it really sunk in that NEVER will we ever have to experience that same feeling that Jesus did at that moment in time. For the Lord has promised to NEVER leave us or forsake us.

How awesome is that? Think about it. Jesus became our sin. As a result, the Father turned His back on His only Son for one brief moment in time. We never have to know what it's like to have God not be there. Because He is always there. Always. In every situation. Whether we are able to recognize His presence or not. It's not about what we can "feel". He is there. Period.

In all our unworthiness....He is there.
Through all our guilt and shame...He is there.
Through all our fear and doubt...He is there.
In all our failures and frustrations...He is there.
In our lack of faith...He is there.
In our trials...He is there.
In our times of sickness...He is there.
Whenever we feel most discouraged...He is there.
Throughout our times of disobedience...He is there.

God is...there.
And His love - UNCONDITIONAL!

Oh what a relief it surely is dear Deb that the Lord will never forsake us and He is constantly reminding us of it just like he reminded you through the words of a song this morning and just like He used you to remind and refresh our memory...such a great word you have here Deb....Love Terry

Deb thank you so much for this post! Today has been a difficult day for me. I don't know why, the grief has just seemed harder today. After days of feeling so much better and almost happy again, this has been disappointing and lonely. How precious to log on to my little box of friends and find this precious message seemingly sent just for me! I love you my cyberfriend! How wonderful to know God is ALWAYS with me! I so needed this tonight.

Love and many warm hugs.............

Isn't that the most amazing thing you ever heard?!

I remember MANY years ago, deep in the depression, struggle and futility of being a single mom (again) , twice divorced with 2 little girls and at the end of my rope. I went into my room and threw myself onto my bed and screamed at God,
"You promised You'd never leave me! Where are you?"

As my sobs subsided, in my spirit, the Lord whispered Hebrews 13:5 over and over. It was like a bucket of calm flowing over me, soothing my hurt. I collected myself and moved on.

That night, I was awakened from my sleep. I could feel the body heat of another person lying next to me. I shot out of bed, thinking the worst, that an intruder was in my home. I was not used to being by myself and I had a hard time sleeping sometimes for fear. I searched throughout the house opening closets and cabinets, searching for an unwelcome invader. There was an invader alright, a Holy Invader! As I went back to my room and sat on my bed, God spoke Hebrews 13:5 to my soul. He reminded me that I was never alone, that He was always keeping watch, singing over me as I slept.

I laid down and had the best night's sleep I had had in months!

He is our 'thread' to hang onto in these troubling times ... a life line! The Father will never turn His back on any child that believes in His Son.

Praising God each day for friends like you Deb
